Likely cause

A worn door seal, a loose supply hose connection, or (less often) a cracked tub.

What to try first

• Check both hot/cold supply hose connections at the wall and at the back of the machine for looseness.
• On front-load models, inspect the rubber door gasket for tears or debris caught in the fold.
